April L. Jones, MS, LPCC-S

April L. Jones, MS, LPCC-S has experience working in the mental health field for the last 19 years with adults, children and adolescents. She has an extensive background working in community mental health. She has been in private practice for the last 7 years. Her passion is working with folks who are struggling with anxiety, depression and trauma related issues. She provides couples counseling as well. April is trained in evidence-based practices such as Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Trauma-Focused Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (TF-CBT) and Motivational Interviewing (MI) techniques. She is also trained in Gottman Method Couples Therapy.

April has been providing clinical supervision for counselor’s in training (LPCA’s) the last several years. She is very passionate about mentoring new clinicians in their professional growth and development. Under her clinical supervision, 6 LPCA’s she has supervised have moved on to become independently licensed clinicians.

April recently added an intern to the practice, Diana K. Brown who is a Xavier University student in the Clinical Mental Health Counseling Program. Diana is interested in assisting folks who struggle with anxiety and depression. April will be clinically supervising her as she learns to build in her own clinical skills. Diana has openings some evenings and Saturday hours (by appointment only) at a reduced self-pay rate of $40 per session!!
